Who IS this Archie Gramble, anyways? No one seems to know Archie's exact origins. He simply SHOWED UP one day, asking to rent a room, and, upon presentation of impeccable references {written in some unknown language -- so I had to take his word for it}, his request was granted. I don't even know WHAT Archie is, seeing that he seems to be just a head with ears or antlers or something. What he IS, is interesting -- quite an original -- and he's wowed us with his rather large vocabulary and his "Gramble Amble" -- a sort of primitive-looking song & dance he does -- "Oom-cha---oom-cha-cha" -- this while dancing in a sort of wild way, with his head thrust back and forward. He's also responsible for the "Gramble Scramble," which is scrambled eggs with cheese and chili pepper added, and for the "Gramble Gamble," which is any game of cards that he's in the mood to play. This isn't even counting the "Gramble Grumble," which occurs when PBS preempts his favorite Britcoms for a bad 1950s movie. He's really a pretty good guy, helping with knotty maintenance problems, snow-shoveling, and general household chores, and generally keeping a positive outlook on things.
